I’m looking at the EHX Switchblade for the following use.
Guitar->EHX BlackFinger Comp->Wah->Ehx Switchblade-
A->Catalinbread SCP Boost->Fender Twin Ch1
B->Catalinbread SC Overdrive->Fender Twin Ch2The 2 Catalinbread pedals will always be on.
Since the Fender Twin allows me to use 2 channels at once will I get hum form the unused channel when switching? or a pop?

Not if B is grounded while you are using A, if its not you can easily make it so it does.
If there is a pop you can solder in a pulldown resistor (1Meg should do) from input/output to ground.December 5, 2008 at 9:08 pm #88532julianModeratorthough I replied to this but I guess I didn’t
I’ve got a setup where I use both my channels as well, except I do wet/dry delay so that I can use my volume pedal to mix in my delay signal.
When the volume is all the way off I don’t have any hum
(though a tiny bit of signal goes through, so that may be why)December 5, 2008 at 9:10 pm #88533boytbpcParticipantHi Dagan,
Are you running your channels on your Twin noticeably different, or are you using the switchblade as a looper?

Yes I like to use 2 different Bass/mid/Trebble settings on each channel.

December 5, 2008 at 9:57 pm #88537Ned FlandersModeratorI’ll do a diagram for you. just give me a bit of time, I’ll start it now.
December 5, 2008 at 10:53 pm #88542Ned FlandersModeratorOk here it is, wire it like this and you have each channel that isn’t being used grounded to cancel any noise. You also have anti-pop resistors on input and output.
The pedal might already be wired like this, I really don’t know but I highly doubt it would have the pulldown resistors added. if its not wired like this just make the necessary changes.

December 5, 2008 at 11:10 pm #88547Ned FlandersModeratorNo problem, glad to help! :wave:

However, because there is still a FX box on each amp input between the switchblade and the amp I still get hum from the fx boxes.
So, I was thinking about adding a second input to the switchblade and wiring it like so:
This way there is no FX on the unused amp input. Do you think this would work. I don’t have another jack to test.
December 6, 2008 at 8:15 pm #88577Ned FlandersModeratorThat is essentially the same deal as the one I did, It wont make a difference to the noise level with one input or two. You shouldn’t be getting noise with the inputs grounded when not in use. I used to use a looper and I’d have a heap of noise effects on and when bypassed they would be silent. The way it works is that the channel you are not using grounds out, hence, canceling any noise.
Anyways, I done another diagram for you, this way you can ad a bi colored LED so you know which channels are being used. Try wire it like this (without the LED’s) I cant see why you would get noise if you re wire it exactly like this diagram, it does exactly the same thing as the other one I done but it just leaves room on the switch for an LED. NOTE: Make sure you have the 3PDT switch orientated correctly, it should be so the flat part of the lugs go horizontal, not vertical. I know EHX mounts them in around the wrong way on certain effects and some people think this is normal and they end up wiring it wrong.
