Hey
I’ve been wondering if theres a place for these types of threads which aren’t really about much, i guess the newly retitled “Lounge” is the place to post this.
Is it just me or do most people who use EHX effects also seem to use fender guitars? I do, a lot of the time and it looks like a few of you guys also use fenders.
Just an interesting thing thats been playing on my mind for a while – discuss

The perfect combo.
You can’t go wrong
November 4, 2008 at 9:04 pm #86986electro-melxModeratorI do, but that’s more to do with neck size/length than anything else. (I play a mustang and a jagmaster, both short and thin) I love the look of les pauls/335’s etc but I just can’t get on with the way they feel in my fretting hand.
so yes, but I can’t really see a connection in my case….small hands=ehx love?
November 4, 2008 at 9:05 pm #86987McHavenModeratorWell, I’ve got a Fender Mustang Bass Reissue, and a Fender Styled Jazz Bass, although not a real fender. Great guitars, but I’ve also got a Gibson, that I’m kind of just afraid to rock out with

Mascis using a jazzmaster and a big muff
Jonny Greenwood using a telecaster and a small stone
Robin Guthrie using a jaguar and a clone theoryThese are irresistible combinations.

not discussed yet, it doesn’t bother me (lets face it, it’s language you hear everyday) but I’m not exactly ‘pro-swearing’ either….it might be best for admin not to encourage it.
I presume EHX want this forum to be a place for people of all ages and while most kids these days use worse language than me, it might be best not to go overboard on the swearing, I wouldn’t ban someone for swearing, but if it was repeated and unnesessary, you know f’in this and f’in that and ‘c’in this I might ask them to try and control it a little..
I dunno, what do the others think?

Oh yeah, i’m an admin 😆
this place is gonna get crowded when everyone else joins. It feels so cosy and secret atm.
November 4, 2008 at 9:43 pm #87006McHavenModeratorI agree swearing shouldn’t be used, unless masked.
Anyway, are MysticBoo and I the only bassists around here?

lets hope so, 2 is more than enough…
you feel that strongly about swearing?
lets face it everyone (well, alomst everyone) swears sometimes, again I think context is important…I’m not a fan of swearing for the sake of it, but sometimes it can be used as an effective way to communicate your feelings and think people should be able to do so providing A: no-one reports the post as offensive or B: like I said before it isn’t f’in this and f’in that every other word.
personally I think typing F***ing is no different from typing the word….it means the same thing and everyone old enough to come on the forum knows what it means, so I don’t really see the point.
…but once again, whatever is decided. Something like this really is Scott’s call, because it’s electro harmonix’s forum.
November 4, 2008 at 10:07 pm #87013Fender&EHX4everModeratorAs admins, I think we should be the most restrained members of the forum. We have to have some leverage and credibility should we need it to resolve issues of civility.

November 4, 2008 at 10:18 pm #87020Dr. MattModeratorQuote:lets hope so, 2 is more than enough…Having only 2 bassists at college is problematic when we’re all put into 5 separate temporary bands to perform setlists – it means some guitarists are told to play bass, or the bass players have to learn more songs than they can manage and it gets in the way of group rehearsals when the bassist is with his other group.
It is interesting to see the responses regarding fenders – and oddly enough melx, i do have very small hands 😆

lol, I think bass is harder than guitar…..it’s seems it’s easier to play badly, but harder to play well….I think a guitar player can sound good even if he isn’t that good, but a bad bass player stands out a mile and usually sounds pretty awful.
Quote:It is interesting to see the responses regarding fenders – and oddly enough melx, i do have very small hands 😆it’s a common complaint with people when they pick up a fender “how the hell do you play on that tiny neck” I had an epi les paul jr and even though the neck was slimmer than a Les Paul standard it still felt like a baseball bat to me…
November 4, 2008 at 11:17 pm #87032electro-melxModeratorMy five new fenders guitars arrived all the way from Japan today too!
a ’67 mustang in red, a ’67 mustang in white, a L/H ’67 mustang in Blue, a ’62 jaguar in sherwood green metallic w/matching headstock and a ’62 jaguar in 3-color sunburst.
