    Hi All,

I have an EHX Super Switcher, and there are a few functions that I could use some further clarification on. Wondering if anyone knows the answer(s)?

1.) I have a number of midi controllable pedals, and I could use some guidance on how to format the switcher/messages so that the correct information gets to the correct pedal? As of now I am able to control my Strymon Big Sky, which is the first pedal in the midi chain, but it doesn’t seem to be passing midi through to the other pedals. Do all the pedals want to be on the same midi channel or different ones? What if I have pedals with fixed omni midi? Are there certain pedals that can’t receive midi from the switcher? Is there a preferred pedal order based on channel number of the pedals? Is there a midi cable brand that is preferred?

2.) Does the super switcher midi out include tap/tempo data? If so, is it by default or does that need to be switched on? As of now, none of my midi pedals are responding to changes in tap from the switcher. Does the midi tempo data override the tap output from the switcher, or can I use both simultaneously for pedals which have a tap in but no midi? Is there a way to distribute the tap output to multiple pedals with tap in’s but no midi control?

3.) I would like to use the channel control outputs on the super switcher to turn on and off effects on my amp. I am using a Roland JC40 which has different channels for chorus/vibe/reverb/and distortion. When I plug a cable into a standalone boss channel switcher pedal, it is silent, and when I plug the same cable into either of the channel control outputs on the switcher there is an awful hum. Is there a way to reduce the hum, or is there a preferred cable for this kind of control? I could keep using the boss pedal, but I am trying to shrink the real estate of things on my board, and it seems like the super switcher should be able to manage this task.

    Thanks so much!
