Damn it, I did spot something new but it was a rotary pedal not a mellotron pedal… *grumbles*

In the future, if you’re going to talk shit, be sure you know wtf you’re even talking about.
Otherwise. . . . .
you animal..
It’s just semantics, chill out.
ScruffieMemberI don’t think the originals takes a power supply, it runs on 2 x 9V batteries for bipolar +/-9V supply.
ScruffieMemberDigital pedals don’t like to be daisy chained, it needs its own isolated output.
ScruffieMemberIt might be clutching at straws, however, last time EHX did one of these circle ‘family’ photos, the Pitch Fork was hidden at the back before release and in this image I see a 4 knob pedal with a rotary that has white knobs while the B9, C9 & Key 9 all have black knobs.
Yes they may have just switched knob colours or could it be…
ScruffieMemberThe manual states a current draw of 90mA, a standard 9V battery is going to last about 3/4 hours max in there… if you’re sure you read that it probably was dropped as an option later as it’s not really practical, cost & use wise and damaging to the environment.

October 18, 2015 at 12:43 pm in reply to: Electro Harmonix Electric Mistress repair (polarity fry?!) – hints or tips required! #120946ScruffieMemberThe AC refers to the adapter that would have originally been used with it which supplies 9 or 18V DC depending on the model, trust me, you’re lucky it still works at all (unless you did actually use DC).
October 18, 2015 at 12:23 pm in reply to: Electro Harmonix Electric Mistress repair (polarity fry?!) – hints or tips required! #120944ScruffieMemberIf you plugged in AC power rather than DC it needs to go to a tech, AC can be very destructive and anything active, diodes and electrolytic caps will all need checking, it’s not a simple fix job.

Problem solved.
ScruffieMemberI suggest rather than attempting this mod you simply wire in a clean boost with a trimmer in place of the level pot between the output and footswitch, an LPB-1’ll do the job. If you can de-solder and re-solder a resistor, you can make one and there’s several DIY forums that will offer help and advice if you get stuck.
ScruffieMemberWell I can do it but i’m in the UK, for logistics sake I suggest you seek out The EH Man on the forum, he should be able to take care of it.
ScruffieMemberWhat’s your location?
I suggest you don’t have the common ‘fix’ but instead opt to have an output boost added internally to compensate the drop, the mod affects the mix which will weaken the flange.
ScruffieMemberWell I don’t need them butchered as such, but a couple of photos of the PCBs would be appreciated if you do change your mind in the future.
There’s no Echo 600 schematic in existence and it uses 3 x MN3005 from the one gut shot I have seen so must be different in design other than additional parameters to the Deluxe memory man to some degree at least and while I do have one for the reverb, I have no idea how accurate it is.
So as a vintage EHX enthusiast i’d be interested to have some concrete information on the circuit designs for my self, the DIY community and for any units that might cross my path for repair
It certainly would be cool to find some units for spares or repairs, if you find any, keep me in mind for getting the repairs done if i’m correct you’re in France so being in the UK i’m a lot closer than some of the major EHX repairers in the US.
