The impression I got from the #1 echo:
-people who bought it just wanted a simple echo and therefor liked it
-people who didn’t buy it were completely uninterested in it because it had no featuresI belong to the second group
julianModeratorI was saying in terms of the current NYC or Sovtek. Not an improvement over the vintage stuff. Though I haven’t had any vintage to compare.
julianModeratortechnically you could just have a send/return loop switcher and put each channel of the SMMH (left and right) into a send/return loop. So you could record a loop in the left channel, then switch to the right channel and you wouldn’t hear it anymore. However the loop would still be going, so if you wanted to do a new loop, the length would be dictated by the ongoing loop.
julianModeratorthat’s the only way to stop the loop unfortunately.
julianModeratormixer with an FX send is what most people do
Since you’re using Audacity though, it’s hard to get a good sound.
julianModeratorWell you can get replacement pots anywhere, but it’s best to try to get one that is the right size. I’d email info@ehx.com and ask them what brand and size of pots they use, and then try to get one on Mouser.com
julianModeratorpretty much any 9v power supply will work
julianModeratorhave some patience man, posts don’t get answered as quickly as on bigger sites!
yeah, pretty much any standard 9v will power the Little Big Muff- Boss, 1spot, godlyke, whatever.
julianModeratorHere’s an idea: EH expression pedal with built in LFO. When you hit the switch (crybaby toe down style) it would switch from expression pedal to LFO mode. A rotary switch would switch from sample and hold, sine, triangle, square, and sawtooth. Then the expression pedal could be switched between controlling depth or speed.
julianModeratorYeah, minus 2 octaves on guitar is getting pretty close to 20 hz, which is the lowest note the human ear can hear.
julianModeratorThat’s why I’d get a travel guitar.
julianModeratorQuote:Here’s what I currently have hooked up at home. I also just got a 2nd hand Tube Zipper that should soon be in the chain. I’ve also got plenty of other stuff off board, including a brand new Flanger Hoax that I’m currently selling. I made both boards, but the one on the right doesn’t have any paint or velcro yet.that’s beautiful
julianModeratorJust put the right out to your mixer.
julianModeratorYou could send it into EH for repair. They charge a small flat fee for out of warranty repairs.
julianModeratorYou could probably wire a volume trimpot right before the output.
