    They responded with this statement.
    “We don’t know why the circle is in a different location on that one chip. We have not had problems with fake MN3008 chips in our stock. The quality of the NOS MN3008 chips has been very consistent.”

    So, I guess it’s a mystery. I must have a very “rare” MN3008 chip then! Every other MN3008 chip I’ve seen online and in person has had the circle on the other side.

    Thanks! I’ll try again. I tried writing to that e-mail address before about a different question but never got a response.
