CryabetesParticipant
are you using the power out of the LS-2? that can cause ground loops and hum, depending on how the rest of your chain is wired.
CryabetesParticipantit sounds like it’s broke. it shouldn’t be doing that. i haven’t heard of it doing anything like that before. if it’s under warranty, send it in for repair/replacement.
CryabetesParticipantit wouldn’t bypass if it were the power system though… DOD’s bypass system was jfet based….
bad ICs for the flanging? busted solder connection on the signal path?might just be cheaper to try buying another. The FX-72 should give you a very similar sound.
Another similar circuit is going to be the Boss HF-2 [same delay chip].CryabetesParticipantnot really
or, i’m kind of a post rock guy and the hall setting wasn’t long enough for my tastes.
(i ended up chasing a couple other verb pedals after the HG and, after the Boss RV-3, DOD FX45, Boss RV-5, Boss RE-20, Alesis Microverb, and ART FXR, I wound up using a Muza FD-90)
still kinda GASing for a cathedral though….CryabetesParticipantQuote:I have the same problem! I’ve tryed with a new Flash card (4 gb) but it still doesn’t work. “New loop”, “record” and “play” bottons doesn’t react to pressure. Is there a solution? Thanksyou know the max size it can read is 2GB, right?
CryabetesParticipantmost analog delays are pretty simple, yeah- the circuitry is a compander and the delay IC. equivalent settings might not all be the same (depends on how the delay chip is biased [?]) but you should be able to get similar sounds from each (well, the LFO section of each is pretty different so take that into consideration, but the delay-ness of them is pretty uniform).
anyone else feel free to jump in if i’m making a mistake with any of my statements.
CryabetesParticipantDeluxe Memory Man – uses multiple BBDs, 550ms of delay time. Designed by Howard Davis.
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/memoryman/deluxeStereo Memory Man – 300ms of delay [via BBDs], with In and Out of phase outputs

http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/memorymanStereo Memory Man with Hazarai – digital delay pedal with looping/reverse capabilities, up to 3000ms of delay, 16 second [?] looper
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/xo/memoryman/hazaraiMemory Boy – 550ms of delay [via BBDs], expression pedal input, tweakable LFO [chorus/vibrato]
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/xo/memoryboyDeluxe Memory Boy – same as above, but with tap tempo, effects loop [for delays only], very tweakable LFO
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/xo/memoryboy/deluxeMemory Toy – same as memory boy, but with no expression pedal input, and only two preset values for the LFO. Some have a loose connector for the circuit boards, but it is easily popped into place/fixed. also don’t touch the trim pots.
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/eh/nano/memorytoynumber of repeats will differ based on your input signal’s strength- likewise oscillation. this is the case for every delay pedal except multi-head tape echos with NO feedback knob.

have you tried with the wall wart plugged into a power conditioner?it could be it doesn’t like working with your equipment [ground lift] or your electrics [power conditioner].
CryabetesParticipantfrom a software looper standpoint, you can do this with Ableton Live and a Launchpad.
and I stress the ‘you’ in that statement. i’ve never been able to make ableton work for me.CryabetesParticipantalso just a quick note- the hardwire pedals are not technically true bypass- they are relay bypass, so in the event of power failure (or dead battery), they will go into bypass mode automatically.
CryabetesParticipantMaybe you can via midi, but just out of the box, it cannot do multiplicative [loop 4 plays four times to every one time loop 3 plays], asynchronous [playing at different loop times or with different start/end points] or time-based trigger style sample techniques.
you’d need a Gibson Echoplex for the first, a Boomerang+ or Bommerang 3 for the second, or a Boss RC-50 for the third.Best of luck.
CryabetesParticipantthe Boss RE-20 is not true bypass, and if it’s daisy chained, it can make some noise along the ground paths [mine does anyways, until I started running it on a different power supply].
Also do you have any pedals you leave on *all* the time? that effectively ends the non-true bypass chain.and +1 to the don’t buy a noisegate crowd.

CryabetesParticipantthe v256 communicates on midi channel 16. the manual really isn’t clear about that.
CryabetesParticipantto clear the loops out if you want to start totally fresh (ie, no time data, no existing loops) is to, without it playing or recording, hit the new loop button. [side note- My Kingston brand CF card didn’t like this at all but I suspect that is due to it being 2GB and possibly slightly larger than expected by the 2880]
to clear out just the loop data, but keep the time, you have to go to each slider, turn it to zero, and record with no input for one full loop.
to clear out just the time data, but keep the loops, I have no idea.
