Hey guys,
Just picked up a Poly Chorus Reissue, the one with 2 LEDs, for £80 in a pawn shop. It’s wicked but too big for me, so I plan on selling it on.
Can’t seem to find much info on them really, specifically [strong]when[/strong] they were reissued. I know it’s not the original, but is the reissue still considered ‘vintage’? Was it reissued in the 90s, or 2000s. It’d make a huge difference. I thought it was 90s, but it’s in such good condition, and there’s a spotless sticker and warranty card in the box that makes me think perhaps this is only a few years old?
Secondly, what’s the worth of the reissue? There’s one on Reverb going for £300 but that seems ridiculous, I was thinking more like £120 to £150 according to past listings. I just don’t want to wildly over or under sell this.
Here’s an album of more pics I took if it helps anyone date or value it – http://imgur.com/a/agvgF
Thank you

June 26, 2016 at 5:09 pm #121668ScruffieMemberI can only speculate, the schematic reference drawing is dated ’97 (so that would be the earliest it would have hit the scene) the copyright is dated ’98 and the actual drawing is dated ’02… split the difference and say they hit the market about ’99/2000?
The wooden box period was from about the late 90s to about 2004/5 so your unit could be from anywhere in that sort of time frame.
Even if it was from ’97 I wouldn’t personally classify it as ‘vintage’ but people certainly do, although I feel that muddies the water of the polychorus ‘legacy’ if you will.
Value wise, well that’s up to the market, personally as the XO seems to be exactly the same i’d say it’s worth the same as a used one of those but people do like the old big boxes… i’d hazard a guess at £200.
Sorry I can’t be more specific, maybe someone else will know more.

I assumed that they were older than 1997-2005 (assumed early 90s, which is just about vintage by now IMO) but you’re right it does feel a bit much to call it vintage if it was made within that time frame. It does certainly look older though, but I suppose that’s just because it was fairly faithful to the original and the wooden box is an old fashioned kind of thing.
Lovely pedal, but I will let the market decide it’s value as you say.
