Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Should EHX pedals come with a UK power supply in the UK?
Hi there, probably a daft question and should be a very quick one to solve!
I just bought a Freeze from a UK online shop and it’s arrived with a European two-prong power supply. Is this usual in the UK? I didn’t have any luck finding a definitive answer through Google or searching on here, though I did note you can buy an EHX UK PSU separately.
Musical stuff being prone to buzzing/interference and whatnot I’d prefer not to use a travel adapter long-term so I need to decide whether to suck it up and spend more on a decent power supply or send it back and get a pedal intended for the UK (if they’re out there).
Cheers
Sounds like a mistake, i’d let them know.
Thanks, I’ve let them know but it sounds like they’re sending out an adapter rather than the proper power supply. Can’t say I’m super impressed by that but at least I know not to buy pedals from there in future.
Well some people do call a power supply an adapter as it converts the walls 240V AC to the 9V DC the pedal wants so hopefully you get what you want, I wouldn’t have thought they’d have EU to UK converters laying about for this situation.
I would’ve thought the same but it seems that they do!
Searching around it turns out that this is a bit of a common thing with this company (it it OK to mention them here?) even though apparently by UK law they should be supplying UK units. Not great and I won’t be using them again but it doesn’t seem worth kicking up a fuss given I’d have to pay to return the thing.
At least the adapter looks decent quality I suppose.
Thanks for your help anyway
Sure, go ahead and name them if it’s something people should be wary of.
I can take a guess as to who it was…
Was DV247 your guess?
It’s not the biggest issue in the world but if you’re going to chuck money at a pedal you might as well do it somewhere you’ll get the right PSU..
