    Hey guys.

Really happy with my Super Switcher so far. It is a dream switcher for me. The built in dedicated boost and control footswitches are so handy. I’m using the midi features to send PC messages to a One Control Basilisk which changes the presets on 3 Strymon pedals (TL/BS/Mob) and a midi modded Pog2. Super easy switching has made performing so much more effortless.

One problem I am having is with the external tap output. I cant get it to control my Strymon Timeline. I am certain this is due to Strymon wanting you to use their proprietary 3-button footswitch. I’d love to just use midi to send tempo info to all the midi pedals but the Basilisk wont pass on midi clock data. All it does is receive a PC message from the SS and switch to the corresponding preset. So my only option to use the SS built in tap switch is by using the external tap output with a TRS connection to the Timeline. When I connect (via TRS) the tap output on the SS to the expression jack on the Timeline it only tracks a few tempo clicks before starting to switch presets. Not good. Ive tried every combo of TS and TRS (including combo cables) with the hopes to find a work around. Nothing.

Im wondering if anyone here has any clever work arounds to this?

Thanks in advance for your considerations.

UPDATE. So I found this on Strymon’s forum site. [strong][/strong]

“…..If you’d prefer to go with another external TAP tempo switch, we can’t recommend a specific one for you but, as long as the switch is designed with a momentary, single pole, double throw (SPDT) type switch that switches the TIP between the SLEEVE (ground or 0VDC) to the RING (5VDC) it should work fine.
If you are unsure whether or not your TAP tempo switch provides these specs we kindly ask that you please contact the manufacturer of that switch for more information.”[strong][/strong]

Any EHX folks know if its possible to mod the super switcher’s tap jack to do the above?[strong][/strong]

I’ve emailed all this to the recommended EHX address as well. [strong][/strong]

    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, we were unable to find a workaround to make the Super Switcher’s TS Tap output work with the Timeline’s TRS Exp input. We tried quite a few tricks but nothing seemed to make it want to work. There is a pedal called the Quartz by Selah. It’s a bit of a time and MIDI brain kind of pedal. It might have the ability to take TS tap input and output TRS tap signals. You might want to reach out to Selah to make sure this situation can be accommodated. We cannot recommend modding the Super Switcher.

Thanks guys! The Quartz is perfect. I am going to get one to replace my Basilisk. The Quartz will send my Super Switcher’s midi clock info thru the quartz to the presets. I wont even need to use the tap jack. Thanks again for the tip!
