Hi, I came across this old Memory Man in a shop window and was wondering what exactly I’m looking at:
It seems to be a “memory man solid State Echo/Chorus”? Any ideas on the year or what it’s worth? I’m thinking of going back in the next few days and making the guy an offer.
(Sorry for the horrible quality. I’m pretty sure it’s the same as this)
It dates to around 1977-79. It would have the Reticon SAD1024A delay ICs so it’s going to be noisier than the later units.
Hey, thanks. Good to know!
The Echo/Chorus used a single MN3005, not Reticons, but it has no companding circuitry so it’ll still be a bit noisy.
I think a lot of people like this model for its chorus sound more so than its delay.
Any idea on what a reasonable price would be?
It’s in one of those shops where the dude’s got everything as ‘vintage’
Check ebay completed listings but, personally I wouldn’t want to pay more than about £120 if I wanted to get a good deal on it.
