Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Using two footswitches with the 2880 looper?
Hi,
I am looking to buy a new looping machine, and the 2880 has caught my eye.
The catch is that I have two guitarists, and I want them both to “have access” to the looper, so that one can create an initial loop, the other can overdub, and so forth.
Do you think it would be possible to rig the 2880 so that it could use 2 separate 2880 foot switches? It seems like it could possibly work, simply by combining the two cables from each foot switch into a single jack, and plugging it into the 2880. I have two concerns, though:
1. Would the two switches somehow send canceling and/or contradicting signals that would “confuse” the 2880?
2. I know that the foot switch gets its power from the 2880 unit — would there be enough to power both switches, assuming this scenario could even theoretically work?
Many thanks for any advice — this is a big decision for me!
Cheers,
Andrew
you could do it but you’d need an A-B switch [like the DOD 270 or an EHX Switchblade] so you wouldn’t have the canceling/contradictory signals.
