I bought a metal muff pedal last year, and about a month after the warranty expired, the thing crapped out. now i know my way around a circuit board or two, and ive figured out that there is an issue with the power supply. the thing plays fine with a 9 volt battery but no such luck with the 9 volt adapter in place. I no longer have the warranty option, and i would rather buy a new one than spend 50 bucks for a pro to fix it. Is there any easy fix to this? i am perfectly willing to take the circuit board off and solder something, but that and replacing the input for the 9 volt power supply are the limit of my technical skills. Any ideas?
?
I’d say the problem is likely in your AC adapter. Have you checked it with a voltmeter to verify the output voltage?
i did try the power supply, and it works fine with my ac adapter. i think the problem is somewhere between the ac input and the circuit board. I also checked the adapter with a volt meter, it registers 9.2 volts
Then the adapter jack is messed up. That’s the only other reason the adapter wouldn’t work but a battery would.
ok thanks! is there any way to repair that or should i just stick with batteries?
Replace the jack. That’s the only option.
