Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › how to use a midi keyboard with the V256 Vocoder?
Hi,
the V256 is my first “pedal” and I got it working and I’m already experimenting with it. I like it so far .
However, I didn’t get my midi keyboard to work with the V256.
XLR-Input: my microphone
MIDI: the keyboard connected via normal midi cable
XLR-Output: xlr-cable connected to my speakers
It’s all working despite when I play a chord the vocoded voice doesn’t change at all.
I “studied” the documentation but it only says that I can use a midi keyboard but not exactly how.
The thing is that the midi keyboard doesn’t generate any sounds but only sends notes via midi. I tried the midi keyboard with garageband and it plays all notes just like on a real keyboard
I still got my old technics keyboard but I bought a smaller midi keyboard because I don’t have too much space available and setting up my technics every day … neeh…sucks…
So do you have any advice for me?
Thanks in advance.
Andreas Schipplock.
the v256 communicates on midi channel 16. the manual really isn’t clear about that.
Does anyone have a recommendation on a good, compact keyboard to use for midi control with this pedal? I’m wanting to get something that I can use live as well as in the home, and really don’t care about a ton of extra features as this will strictly be used for controlling the V256.
thanks
D
