In my move to Paris, one of my tubes in my EHX English Muff’n shattered due to some careless movers >.< I’d like to replace the tubes with some EHX 12ax7’s but I’m not sure whether to get gold pins or just regular ones. What difference does it make, and what would sound be better to put in the English Muff’n? Thanks
Gold has better properties for conducting electricity, and are thus higher quality.
I’m sure you’d be fine with the normal ones though. I think the gold pin ones are more for audiophiles.
